Seachem's Flourish Excel is a source of organic carbon for planted aquariums; basically an excellent plant food.
It has also proved to be an effective for control of stringy, furry, hairy or fuzzy algae within the aquarium. Simply double dose on the first day of treatment, then single dose for the next two days. This usually is an effective way of removing this difficult type of algae from the aquarium.
